John and I were married on September 6, 2003. We've lived on the East coast ever since, even though neither of us grew up here. Our beautiful daughter, Toma, was born on May 9, 2007 and has added tons of joy (and frustration) to our family. We love and miss all of our friends and family!
June 16, 2009 We were outside playing in the backyard and Toma was trying to get my attention. When I didn't respond to "mommy" fast enough, she started saying, "honey, honey" and running over to me. (Yes, she got that one from John)
June 10, 2009 Toma is the Dancing Queen. She loves to dance to any music. If she is watching a movie and a song comes on, she dances. . . when the credits roll, she dances. She is so cute! She is also starting to learn some of the words to I Am a Child of God. As we're singing it, she'll chime in words she knows, especially the last word, "day."
April 4, 2009 Some of our friends, Andrew and Wendie, invited us over for dinner last weekend. We all were sitting there eating dinner. Toma was sitting between me and Andrew. At one point she looked up at him, caught his attention, and batted her eyes at him. It was so funny. It as an obvious flirt. . . oh boy, she's starting early . . . reminds me of her aunt Kami.
March 17, 2009 I got a Wii fit for my birthday. Today I was exercising when Toma woke up. I just leave her door ajar so she can come down when she wakes up. . . She came down and saw me running, so she tried to run in place. It was so cute. A little later I was doing, or attempting to do, some Yoga and she was copying me. . .she's really good at the "downward facing dog". It was adorable!
Toma has decided that she loves dried onions. . . I had a container of them out and she stuck her hand in it and ate some. . . then went back for more. Yuck! Now every time she sees the container, she wants it opened.
Toma is the youngest in nursery. A couple weeks ago, John was in with her. Toma was playing with a toy kitchen and an older girl came and started pushing Toma out of the way. So what did Toma do? She turned and growled and snorted at her. I still laugh thinking about it and wishing I had seen it.
